PBH Growing Medium Material is the natural replacement for perlite in your growing media. It has achieved positive results in hundreds of field trials and is now in use at leading nurseries. As a constantly renewable resource, this rice hull product offers numerous horticultural, environmental and economical advantages.
The physical size, shape and bulking properties of PBH Growing Medium Material produce optimum air-filled pore space, water-holding capacity and drainage for greenhouse and container plant production. It is ideal for blending with other media components, such as peat and coir, to produce cost-efficient substrates suitable for a wide range of growing requirements. Extremely lightweight and highly compressed when packaged. Minimal dust improves the mixing environment.
PBH Growing Medium Material is uniquely processed to insure purity. It undergoes extensive sizing and cleaning and is then subjected to a series of innovative heat treatments that collectively sterilize the PBH Growing Medium Material and render any residual rice kernels, weed seeds or disease pathogens non-viable.
These are 50 lb bags, compressed from 7 cuft. to 4 cuft. They are cheap but heavy. You'll likely pay more in shipping than product. If you bought the same weight in perlite you'd pay thousands. This growing media is going to revolutionize gardening!
